- Things to consider when buying a computer:
1. How will you use your computer? 2. How many people will be using it? 3. Do you want it to be portable? 4. Will you be using a printer? 5. Do you want to be connected to the internet?
Hardware
- The most important parts of a computer are the motherboard, CPU (central processing
unit), operating system, memory (ram) video card, monitor, hard disk drive (storage space) and key board. The mouse, CD, DVD, modem and printer are fairly standard.
Internet and World Wide Web
- Having your own website can be fun and profitable.
- When recycling a computer, be sure to completely erase all data on the hard drive first. If that
can't be done, take the drive case out of the computer and break it into pieces.
- Programs are software that can make using a computer easier and fun. They can be
downloaded as freeware, shareware or bought on the internet.
